Great Grandma Baus

Cora recently had the amazing opportunity of meeting her Great Grandma Baus! It was quite a journey, but an extremely special one. Cora and I flew direct from Zurich to Washington D.C. to meet Marisa and Nana (Nana flew into DC the day prior to join in on the fun). After delicious Mexican food, a sparkly tour of DC Zoo Lights and one good nights' sleep, we piled into Marisa's car and journeyed over the rivers and through many woods to Great Grandmother's House.

The visit to Ohio was short, but oh so sweet. Cora warmed up to Great Grandma in seconds, as if she had always known her. Great Grandma also gave her the sweetest little toy puppy, which I'm sure solidified their special bond. Cora only wanted to hold Great Grandma's hand or stand next to her during photos or at gatherings. We were also able to visit with the majority of my mom's family, whom had still never met Cora. Needless to say, Cora was loving being the center of attention!

Great Grandma, at 93, is doing incredibly well. She is now living at an assisted living home, although she is still sharp as a tack and getting around just fine and enjoying all the activities her new home offers. She is such an inspiration and I hope we can all lead such a full and loving life.

This about sums up our drive.

Thankful for Friends

Nat was away for two weeks after Cora's birthday, so to pass the time we made sure to pack everyday full of exciting adventures. Our most fun adventure was having a slumber party at Meghan and Zoe's house, while their daddy was away for work too.

Meghan and Zoe are moving back to Wales the end of this month, so we were sure to pack in as much time with them as possible. We will really miss them, but are already planning on a trip to visit them in early spring at their home by the sea on a "Tale of a Whale" as Cora believes:

Here are a few more videos and photos from the past week:

Packed up for an overnight adventure!

Slumber party!!

Buddies, bikes and doggies. Teaching Cora the art of adventure travel!

Meghan and Zoe's going away party.

Every year Bern has a huge Onion Festival where the streets are full of vendors,
confetti throwing children, music and madness (for Switzerland, that is)!  Cora loved it!

And Daddy came home right it time to play!

Story time with Daddy.

Saying goodbye to Meghan and Zoe at playgroup :(
